What was your first impression of Jonah? Haha, so Jonah and I met online. The going joke is that my mom virtually swiped right on him. So, here’s the scoop! I’m looking through all of his pictures and they are ALL gym pictures. So, everyone knows the Nettles Gang (Mom, Phylicia and Aunt Toyya) are my best friends, the group chat stay lit. IYKYK! So, I’m telling them about him and how he’s so cute, but I hate that it seems like he’s so focused on the physical. So, I read his bio and my heart instantly flutters, but my head is like … Nah, he might be a jock. So, my mom simply tells me as she always does “close your eyes and open your heart.” So, I took a leap of faith and swiped right. He immediately sent me a message and we talked briefly before we exchanged phone numbers. We had our first phone convo and literally talked for hours and hours and hours in my Muni Long voice. I knew then he was different. His dreams aligned with my dreams and his heart was apparent from the start. I knew I never wanted to let him go.
What are your plans after the wedding?! What’s next?! Well, I plan to just enjoy life with my best friend. This year is a big transitional year finishing residency and becoming Dr. Mrs. Wilson-Switzer. I just want to be present in the moment, expand our family and make some memories.

What was your first impression of Janae? Our initial conversation was effortless. We were able to talk and enjoy the conversation. She was very detailed on what she wanted. Also, I could tell she came from a family with support that valued what she decided to pursue in life.

How did the proposal go!? Who popped the big question?!
Janae: I will let Jonah start since he was the mastermind behind operation "put a ring on it".
Jonah: I planned a dinner cruise for our "one-year anniversary" of being together.
Janae: I thought we were just going out for an anniversary dinner.
Jonah: I knew I was going to propose so when I booked the dinner I informed the boat captain of my plans. On the dinner cruise they booked a murder mystery story for all patrons on the boat that night.
Janae: Clever way to keep me occupied in hindsight! Haha. It was about an artist who ended up dead when his art was stolen.
Jonah: The guy that was hosting the murder mystery had the clever idea to put me in the storyline to allow me to propose. So, he called on me and asked what I was doing in the art gallery.
Janae: He looked so surprised, and I just nudged him to participate. I had no clue.
Jonah: I get up. She’s egging me on from the audience which worked out perfectly. So, he got her to stand up with me.
Janae: He asked me a series of questions and I’m getting all sassy because I’m invested in the story. Then he asks Jonah to tell me why he was really in the gallery.
Jonah: I began speaking as if I’m in the story. Then I turned to her and expressed how much I love her.
Janae: It suddenly hits me that he’s about to ask me the most important question of my life. I instantly begin to cry.
Jonah: I dropped to one knee and asked her, “Will you marry me?”
Janae: And of course, you know the answer was HELL YES! We are so excited to go on this journey.
